The Megger TDR2050 dual-channel Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR) designed for fault location on paired metallic cables offers exceptional features for precise fault detection and localization. With a color screen, the TDR2050 provides high resolution and a compact design, making it suitable for a variety of applications. It offers a minimum resolution of 0.1 meters / 0.3 feet and a maximum range of up to 20 kilometers / 65 thousand feet, dependent on cable type and selected velocity factor. Key features of the TDR2050 include selectable output impedances (25, 50, 75, 100, 140 ohms + AUTO) with auto impedance matching, and a velocity factor adjustable between 0.2 and 0.99. The TDR2050 includes an AUTO selection feature for efficient parameter selection based on the required range, aiding rapid fault diagnosis. It also allows manual override for fine-tuning and identification of challenging faults.

The TDR2050 supports dual trace and dual cursor capabilities, offering flexibility and instant distance indication between two points. Moreover, the trace comparison feature enables detailed analysis between trace conditions. The instrument offers 100 internal trace memories for storing and recalling test results. The FindEnd function allows automated searching of the trace to identify the cable's end quickly, useful for rapid cable length measurements. Additionally, the TDR2050 features trace tagging, enabling users to assign names or identifying text to saved traces, enhancing trace management and organization. The device comes with the TraceXpert software, offering control over trace results management, downloading, and reporting.
