Product Overview
The National Instruments GPIB-120A is a GPIB expander / isolator. The IEEE 488.1 standard prescribes a maximum of 15 electrical device interface loads in a GPI system. The National Instruments GPIB-120A increases the maximum number of GPIB system devices from 15 to 28. The GPIB-120A is also useful in test and measurement systems because it provides an electrically isolated interface to one or more devices. The GPIB-120A is software transparent; you do not need to rewrite your application software.
Features of the NI GPIB-120A include:
- Expands the number of GPIB devices to 28
- Bidirectional expansion - Controllers, Talkers, and Listeners can exist on either side of the expansion
- 400 Vrms electrical isolation between GPIB systems for 1 minute
- Software transparent – no software modifications required
- Signal buffering extends the maximum GPIB cable limit to 40 m (device load every 2 m of bus cable)
- Built-in 120 or 240 VAC power supply
- Meets FCC Class A electromagnetic noise emission requirements
- UL listed
