The Keysight 86109B module provides the highest combination of optical and electrical bandwidth required for testing beyond 10 Gb/s. The electrical channel has 50 GHz bandwidth and the optical channel has 40 GHz of bandwidth. 40 GHz of unfiltered optical bandwidth is essential now that return-to-zero (RZ) modulation formats are being used in 40 Gb/s transmission systems under development.

40 GHz amplified optical channel for 9/125 fibers

• Wavelength range: 1000-1600 nm
• Characteristic RMS noise: 20 uW (26 GHz BW), 50 uW (40 GHz BW)
• Maximum displayed peak power: 8 mW

50 GHz electrical channel with 3.5 mm male input

• Characteristic RMS noise: 0.25 mV (26 GHz BW), 0.6 mV (50 GHz BW)
• Maximum input signal: ± 2 Vdc
