The Megger TORKEL950 (500 V) Battery Load Unit Tester enables users to perform load and discharge testing on batteries of up to 500V with a maximum discharge current of 220A. This additional capacity gives the opportunity to shorten the test time. If higher current is needed, two or more TORKEL units or extra load units, TXL, can be linked together. Megger TORKEL950 (500 V) Battery Load Unit Tester can test batteries without disconnecting them from the mains and allows testing at constant current, constant power or constant resistance - or in a pre-set load profile - for fully comprehensive testing.

Megger TORKEL950 (500 V) Battery Load Unit Tester uses a DC clamp-on ammeter to measure the total battery current while regulating it at a constant level. If the voltage drops to a level slightly above the final voltage, the TORKEL950 issues an alarm and if there is a risk of deep discharging the battery, it stops the test. Readings are shown on the Megger TORKEL950’s 7” colour touch screen and they are also saved to the internal memory. Once downloaded via the USB port, data can be collated and analysed using Torkel Viewer software. Moreover, if you connect the BVM battery voltage monitor to a TORKEL950 unit, it becomes a complete standalone discharge test system.
