The Emerson AMS Trex handheld Device Communicator was designed to do everything the Emerson HART 475 Field Communicator does and more, with less ancillary equipment, and is packaged to please the next generation of process control engineers and technicians.

The AMS Trex is designed to provide the convenient user experience of modern consumer products in a device built to withstand harsh industrial environments. The intrinsically safe communicator is certified to go anywhere a technician can go, with no need to shut a process down or get a hot work permit.

The Emerson Trex communicator streamlines activities in the field, allowing technicians to isolate and repair problems while devices continue to run. Segment and loop diagnostic tools quickly validate loop and fieldbus segment characteristics for easy troubleshooting. With numerous communication options, your communicator has never been more connected.

Designed for comfortable, one-handed operation in the field, the Trex communicator is packaged in an evenly-balanced form factor with a rugged hand strap so you can easily hold it, even when working in tight spaces. With built-in Bluetooth, USB, and WiFi connectivity, move data to and from the communicator using the connectivity option that is most convenient.

Eliminate the risk of inaccurate data by automatically synchronizing field data with your asset database. With AMS Trex and AMS Device Manager, log and time-stamp field changes as they occur to eliminate manual transcription tasks and maintain the integrity of your asset database. 

The AMS Trex unit includes built-in functionality to power devices. Simply connect the communicator to a loose instrument to power it. Don't waste time looking for a power supply or confirming adequate loop resistance before testing. Powering a device from the Trex unit isolates it from the rest of the system, helping pinpoint installation issues, including power supply, wiring, I/O cards, or configuration.

Power the loop functionality also allows device configuration in the field on new projects - even before power and I/O infrastructure are in place - helping to keep device configuration off critical path.

This rugged device is easy to hold, yet designed to take the bumps and drops that come from normal use in the plant. The Trex unit is protected against moisture and extreme temperatures, so you can work regardless of environmental conditions. The outer shell meets Intrinsic Safety standards, limiting the buildup of static electrical energy.

The AMS Trex carrying case features a convenient window so you can easily access the unit - and contains pockets for any additional accessories.

Using ValveLink Mobile, you can perform valve diagnostics in the field, including valve signature, dynamic error band, PD one button sweep and step response, without having to pull the valve or perform invasive troubleshooting steps. ValveLink Mobile provides an intuitive user interface that is easy to understand and use. The large touchscreen on the Trex communicator makes it easier than ever to see all valve diagnostic details.
