The Chroma 63106A Programmable DC Electronic Load is suitable for the test and evaluation of multi-output AC/DC power supplies, DC/DC converters, chargers, and power electronic components. The Chroma 63106A load module is ideal for applications in research and development, production, and incoming inspection. The system is configured by plugging the user selectable load modules into the system mainframe. The user interfaces include an ergonomically designed user friendly keypad on the front panel and the following computer interfaces: RS-232, USB or GPIB (optional).

The Chroma 63106A has maximum power of 600W, 0 to 80V range at 120A. It is a 2-U slot size unit.

New features of the 63106A include:

• Constant Power (CP) Mode:
  • Constant Power mode is ideal for battery capacity testing, battery life cycle testing, as well as output power versus efficiency curve testing.
• Average Measurement:
  • Due to certain UUTs having a low frequency output voltage ripple causing 6310 series measurements to fluctuate with the ripple, the 6310A series has included a new average measurement function to allow for a stable measurement from the DC Load.
• Over Current Protection (OCP) and Over Power Protection (OPP) Test:
  • The 6310A provides OCP and OPP testing with a dwell time setting to allow for OCP and OPP slew rate control, ideal for different OCP/OPP testing conditions.
• Timing Measurement:
  • Timing measurements for Battery and supercapacitor discharge time measurements.
• Digital I/O Control:
  • The digital I/O control is ideal for the automated testing environment. The 6310A can be controlled through the digital I/O and the load status obtained from the digital I/O signal.
